We’re very excited to already have some healthcare luminaries signed up as keynote speakers and panelists.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Winjie Tang Miao is president and incoming CEO of Texas Health Resources. She previously served as COO, leading enterprise-wide operations, and as chief experience officer, driving the system’s Connected Health strategy.

Miao joined Texas Health in 2000, rising through leadership roles including inaugural president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance. She holds a biomedical engineering degree from Johns Hopkins and a master’s in healthcare administration from UNC.

INNOVATION IN HEALTHCARE PANEL

Dr. Daniel Hommes is Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer at UT Southwestern, where he leads the Innovation Hub and oversees the Office for Technology Development. In this role, he is building an enterprise-wide innovation platform that identifies, develops, protects, funds, and commercializes high-potential discoveries from UTSW laboratories and clinical programs.

Dr. Hommes is a physician-executive, scientist, and entrepreneur with prior leadership roles at DEARhealth, InterVenn Biosciences, UCLA, and Leiden University. He is a board-certified internist and gastroenterologist, former ECCO President, and author of more than 280 peer-reviewed publications.

Dr. Steve Miff is the President and CEO of Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation (PCCI), a leading non-profit artificial intelligence and cognitive computing organization affiliated with Parkland Health, one of the country’s largest and most progressive safety-net hospitals. Driven by his passion to use next-generation analytics and technology to serve the most vulnerable and underserved residents, Steve and his team leverage data science and clinical expertise to incorporate social-determinants-of-health insights into point-of-care interventions.

Steve earned his PhD and MS in biomedical engineering and a BA in economics from Northwestern University, and has authored more than 100 publications, including the 2020 book Building Connected Communities of Care. A five-time Dallas 500 honoree, 2023 Tech Titans emerging company CEO of the year, and 2025 Dallas County Medical Society Champion of Science and Medicine, Steve previously served as General Manager of Sg2 and Senior Vice President at VHA (Vizient Inc.).

Dr. Brett Moran serves as Chief Health Officer at Parkland Health, leading Clinical Strategic Development, Digital Health, Research, Innovation, and Value initiatives. A national leader in healthcare technology and health equity, he built Parkland’s Clinical Informatics department and Digital Health Center, driving AI-powered programs in sepsis detection, workplace violence prediction, and trauma care. His work earned Parkland multiple HIMSS Davies Awards, including the first Public Health Davies Award in over a decade.

Under his leadership, Parkland achieved 87%+ virtual visit completion among marginalized communities and equitable COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Board-certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Informatics, he teaches at UT Southwestern and advises the Texas eHealth Advisory Council and Duke’s CHAI framework.

HEALTHCARE ENTREPRENEUR PANEL

Calvin Carter brings over 35 years of tech entrepreneurship to healthcare as CEO of Matic, an AI-native platform automating physician documentation and driving practice efficiency. Under his leadership, Matic has grown revenue 15x in a single year, earning Carter a spot on the 2026 AI 75 by Dallas Innovates and the Dallas Regional Chamber.

He previously founded Bottle Rocket, delivering over 500 digital products for Fortune 500 clients and earning four Apple App Store Hall of Fame awards before its acquisition by WPP. Carter is known for building culture-first organizations grounded in purpose and connection.

Thomas John brings more than 30 years of experience building companies at the intersection of healthcare and technology. He founded Plutus Health Inc., a tech-enabled revenue cycle management company handling over $1 billion in insurance collections annually at a 5% denial rate — roughly half the industry average — with 30% of all work executed through automation and agentic AI. Under his leadership, Plutus Health has scaled to 1,700+ employees across the U.S. and India, serving healthcare organizations in 25+ states.

In 2023, he founded Artemis ABA Inc. to bring unified clinical and practice management to Applied Behavior Analysis providers. He holds credentials from Harvard’s Executive Leadership in Healthcare program.

Dr. Sejal Mehta is a Triple Board-Certified psychiatrist with more than 25 years of clinical excellence across the DFW metroplex, specializing in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry with additional certification in Addiction Medicine. She founded and leads Psychiatric Medical Associates, PA, and has served as Principal Investigator on more than 80 clinical medication research trials.

In 2025, she co-founded Ascent Healthcare Texas, Ascent Healthcare Partners, and PraxisOne, Inc., and completed a Harvard certification in AI in Healthcare. She also founded Aadhar, a nonprofit advancing mental wellness advocacy and education.
