KEYNOTE 1

Michael Fey

Co-Founder and CEO
Island

Michael Fey leads Island as co-founder and CEO, relying on his extensive experience in cybersecurity, enterprise software and cloud technology. Prior to this, Fey was President and COO at Symantec, and President and COO of Blue Coat. Prior to that, Mike was EVP & GM for enterprise products at McAfee and CTO of Intel Security playing a pivotal role in Intel’s acquisition of McAfee for $7.7 billion in 2010.

Fey holds a degree in Engineering Physics and Mathematics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and was co-author of Security Battleground: An Executive Field Manual, providing a playbook for security obligated executives coping with the new realities of cyber security responsibilities to the board.

Will Anderson directs the overall strategy of the Dallas Business Journal newsroom as editor in chief. As a business journalist, he’s covered stories from company collapses and proxy fights to “Shark Tank” strategy and the business of beer. As an editor, he’s overseen newsrooms that have been recognized by the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing, Texas Press Association and American City Business Journals.

Will previously spent more than 20 years in Austin, including eight working at Austin Business Journal. He spends his free time hanging out with his wife and three kids, reading and trying to smoke the perfect brisket.

Scott Harper

Scott Harper is a Dallas-based entrepreneur and operator. He is the Co-Founder and former CEO of Dialexa, a digital product engineering firm he built from a bootstrapped startup into a 350-person company before its acquisition by IBM in 2022, where it became a cornerstone of IBM Consulting’s product engineering practice. Clients included Toyota, Boston Consulting Group, Topgolf, Deloitte, Genentech, and Audi.

Today, Scott runs his family office and is building several new ventures in stealth. He was named EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® and serves on the boards of YPO Lone Star, The Hockaday School, and the SMU Computer Science Advisory Board.

She has ~30 years of industry, management consulting, and deals experience, with direct international experience in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.
